What’s Your Word for the New Year?

What’s Your Word for the New Year?

Hi my beautiful friends! I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with your families yesterday. My heart is full and so is my belly! We spent time surrounded by family, enjoying delicious food, and celebrating God's goodness in His Son, Jesus!

As we approach the end of the year, and this decade, many of us find ourselves reflecting  on some of our greatest accomplishments, as well as some of our struggles. We tell ourselves how the upcoming year will be different, and before we know it... we have a list of motivated "dos and don'ts" which tend to slowly dissipate as the new year passes.

I've recently shared in my previous birthday post, “Thoughts on Turning 31,” that my goals for the New Year are no longer many. Instead, my desire is that my focus is soley fixed on growing closer to the Lord in love and obedience. (Of course, I have many areas in need of improvement.) With this desire in mind, I've been inspired to find a specific word to pray for myself and meditate on throughout the new year. I've actually been praying and searching for this word, and I'm still on the hunt!

Today, I wanted to present a question for you! What is YOUR word for the New Year? If you could choose ONE word to meditate and pray for yourself throughout the year, what would it be?

Think of something that you'd like to aim for... whether it's more "faith," "peace," "courage," "hope," "joy," or to be more "brave," "fearless," "patient?," etc. The opportunities are literally endless, and the word can be very personal and private to you. If you’re fearful, you may choose the word "fearless." This word can inspire prayers to God, and searching through Scripture to become more fearless in your every day life!

A few ideas on how you can find "your" word:
1. Think about your struggles, and what you would like to overcome in the next year.
2. Think of a quality you admire in someone that you'd like to emulate.

Any word come to mind?

I hope this inspires and encourages you in the upcoming year! Do you have your word for the New Year? If so, I'd love to hear it in the comments below! Thanks so much for each and every one of your comments! I always appreciate them, and look forward to replying! :) Have a wonderful and rested day!

Cool, Calm, and Collectedly Yours,
